Tell me, who does not want to be stronger, smarter, prettier, or richer? I think there are none. So is man, that always tries to climb the social ladder. And it’s alright, it’s okay.
But sometimes the passion and the desire to be better so dazzling that overshadow prudence and confuse to be and to appear. So sometimes in the pursuit of happiness, people change priorities and instead of being better, begins to do everything to seem so.
In sports, this is especially apparent, including chess and checkers. Every athlete wants to be a champion, the strongest, cleverest, most capable, the most talented. Someone on the way to this goal, diligently practicing, some resort to tricks and enjoys tips on tournaments (read the article Cheating in chess and checkers), and someone does not lose time and just buys the title.
Yes, it buys. Sport is also penetrate the market relations. Of course, nobody is aware of this and perhaps you first learn about this on the pages of the club Fenix-64. However, buying-selling titles in chess and checkers was not born yesterday, and this issue is shrouded in mystery, which, by the way, not always such. Buying the title of the athlete does not take into account one thing: that know three people who know everything! And the attitude in the sports circle will be accordingly.
How is buying titles?
Most often, the plot unfolds on one of three scenarios.
The first is the so-called “fake” tournaments. Conditionally they can be divided into two types.
The first type – pure “fake tournament”. The organizers of the competition just right paperwork and send them for processing. Then the chessplayers shall submit data in the table as evidence that he had carried out a norm of candidate to master of sports, or international master, or international grandmaster… And he was awarded the title. Sometimes in these tables, there are players who are long dead, or which for a long time not playing. In this case, it becomes immediately obvious that the tournament is “fake”.
Another type of tournament is a real tournament with real players that are in the appointed time come for the match and do play. BUT! All the participants play for the benefit of two or three players who sponsor such an event.
Following the acquisition of the title is buying an important game. Some athletes, knowing that a victory in the next batch will provide the necessary points for the norm of the desired title, not willing to risk. They try to “negotiate” with the opponent, and sometimes even very successful.
As strange as it all may seem, but such cases take place in real chess and draughts sport. In the sports circle on the purchased chessplayers lot of rumours. And not surprising. Such glorying is not only lowers the credibility of the athlete, but also the reputation of chess and checkers as games.
