Not many sports, among which museums were opened. Chess and checkers, fortunately, are indeed such rare exceptions. About young unique Museum of chess and checkers will be discussed in this article.

Crimean chess and checkers Museum is located in the Crimean capital of Simferopol. It was founded on the basis of the Crimean Republican out-of-school educational institution “Children-youth chess and checkers sports school”.

The idea to collect unique chess and checkers inventory originated in 1996, when formed chess and checkers Federation of Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Chess and checkers more than entertainment or sports. This is a special area for creativity of artists and stylists. Non-standard chess pieces can cause deepest feelings. The staff of Federation headed V.Kiselev put many efforts to implement this idea. For 13 years was going unique exhibits chess, checkers and the accompanying equipment. Presentation of the collections was held on August 26, 2009. to the centenary of chess in the Crimea. This significant for all Crimean players holiday personally was graced by the presence Garry Kasparov – 13 world chess champion.

Crimean Museum of chess and checkers was created not only for the lovers of those intellectual games. One of the goals of the founders is to attract the attention of ordinary people to this ancient games, to show that the chess pieces and checkers pieces can be of various subjects. This is a wide field for creative designers and artists. To this end, the exhibits are collected in the collection exclusively stylized.

Initially in chess and checkers Museum was presented 15 exhibits. The collection is replenished and currently exhibited for visitors 23 exhibit. To see them can be anyone for free. The Museum is open on weekdays…
