International day of chess is a relatively new holiday, despite the fact that the game is over 1500 years. This holiday was established under the auspices of the world chess Federation FIDE in 1966. Since then, chess fans around the world began to hold tournaments, which aimed not only to compete, but also to bring to this sport as many people as possible. To participate in tournaments anyone can, and everyone will find in this game something.
The history of the International chess day is shrouded in mystery. We do not know who proposed to celebrate this holiday and why July 20. However, this Day of chess does not interfere. Today, many professional athletes and Amateurs of chess are lucky, because this occasion all over the world many grandmasters and masters of sports give simuls.
International chess day in the Crimea
In the Crimea, this day is celebrated with the opening of chess and checkers club in 1987. This year in celebration planned several open Republican blitz tournaments. One traditionally held July 20 in Simferopol on the Crimean Republican out-of-school educational institution “Junior chess and checkers sports school”. The second tournament is scheduled for July 23 in Yalta,village Koreiz. In these competitions is expected to more than 80 participants from various regions of autonomy. To open this holiday will be the Minister of education and science, youth and sports of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Vitalina Dzoz.

А я когда в детстве услышала, что шахматы – это спорт, очень удивилась. Но со временем поняла, что действительно надо очень напрягать определенные части тела, чтобы играть в шахматы! Как вы думаете, чтобы хорошо играть в шахматы необходим математический склад ума?
