The best age for chess lessons
Earlier in the Soviet school age child 7-10 years was considered the most appropriate to start learning chess. This opinion continues to this day. This is due to the fact that starting about the age of seven the child is able in mind to do simple mental operations, which is very needed in the game. By this time the baby is already developing a questioning attitude and a penchant for analysis, is able to generalize and classify, to distinguish the important from the unimportant, and most importantly able to capture regularities. According to psychologists, at this age children love to learn something new. Perhaps for this reason, when set in CYSS preference is given to children of this age.
